Salford Pride does not provide services that support people when they are experiencing a crisis or need urgent help. Please see the list below for places you can access support.

If you are in crisis, you should:

  • Call 999

  • Call your GP during office hours Monday - Friday.

  • Contact one of the crisis support services below.

  • Please attend A&E only as an absolute last resort due to the current pressure the NHS is under (Salford Royal has a mental health liaison team).

NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent or non-urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do. This is a 24-hour national helpline providing health advice and information.

Shout is the UK’s first free 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help. They can help with urgent issues such as suicidal thoughts, abuse or assault, self-harm, bullying, relationship challenges.

YoungMinds

Text YM to 85258

Text the YoungMinds Crisis Messenger, for free 24/7 support across the UK if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. All texts are answered by trained volunteers, with support from experienced clinical supervisors.

They also have a Parents Helpline that you can contact if you are worried about your child. You can speak to one of their experts on by calling 0808 802 5544 for free (Mon-Fri from 9.30am to 4pm).
