Salford Pride’s new weekly social support group is organised by the Salford Pride team and offers a safe space to check in and have a chat. Taking place every other Friday at 7pm, ChitChat welcomes all members of the LGBT+ community to come together and meet like-minded people.
Pride should be celebrated every day and even whilst the community can’t hang out in-person, coming together remains incredibly important. Through Salford Pride’s ChitChat sessions, attendees can support each other, learn about local services and create a safe space for our brilliant community. The weekly event will include running activities, links to support services, Q&A sessions and even be hosting some special guests.
So grab a cuppa, bring your own biscuits and join the ChitChat sessions for a good old chinwag! To join us for a ChitChat, go to salfordpride.org.uk/chitchat to sign up.
Lee Bowditch, Chief Executive of Salford Pride said:
“The reason we started chitchat is because during these uncertain times with the outbreak of COVID-19, a lot of people are isolated at home and have no one to talk to. So we want to be there for them, to have a chat so they know someone is there and link people to vital services within Greater Manchester.”
Salford Pride delivers Salford’s annual pride event, The Pink Picnic, and other fundraising, awareness and educational projects for the LGBT+ community that are open to all to attend and enjoy - no matter how they identify; promoting equality, inclusion and community cohesion.
