Over 8,000 LGBTQ friends & family joined us in Peel Park for fabulous fun day out with artists, including Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud, local entertainers, community stalls and of course our doggy show. The sun was out and everybody enjoyed themselves.


LGBT+ History Month art expo

To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, Salford Pride joined up with the University of Salford Student’s Union and Salford City Council to hold an exhibition of LGBT+ art, history and culture at Swinton Gateway in Salford. The event featured art, historical artefacts, media from artists across the county and archives from the University of Salford from the 1960s and 1970s. The event also showcased a short film, 'A Love Letter', a film made by Joshua Hubbard and Lee Baxter.


BI-VIBE

Saturday 18th september 2021

To celebrate and showcase Bi talent and the Bi community as part of Bi Awareness Week Salford Pride delivered our BI-VIBE event. The event took place at Tribeca Manchester and saw over 100 people turn out to celebrate and support Bi artists and our Bi community. The event saw performances from local Bi artists and featured headline artist GIRLI.


The Pink Picnic 2021

The Picnic Picnic 2021 returned to Peel Park this summer, with crowds of people attending despite the weather. The day saw live entertainment on the main-stage from local LGBT+ artists as well as headline artists Sam Callahan, Katherine Ellis, Big Brovaz & Booty Luv, Cheryl Hole and Stooshe. Groups, organisations and businesses attended having expo stalls on the day to showcase their products or services. In addition there was a dog show presented by Dogs & Divas, children’s activities hosted by Proud 2B Parents, a petting zoo by Safari Phil’s Adventures and much more.


LGBT+ HISTORY MONTH 2021

To celebrate LGBT+ History Month Salford Pride organised an LGBT+ QuizNight hosted by the fabulous Miss Blair. The event had over 50 people attend and join in, winning some amazing prizes and learning about LGBT+ History in a fun and engaging way.


TDOR: EMBRACE & EMPOWER

To celebrate and honour trans and non-binary lives that have been lost due to transphobia and hate, Salford Pride organised and delivered an event for Trans Day of Remembrance called TDOR: Empower & Embrace. The event was an hour and a half live stream that showcased and championed trans and non-binary artists to amplify trans and non-binary voices and show our support for our trans and non-binary community.

Due to Covid-19 The Picnic Picnic 2020 was held digitally, with 8 hours of pride spanning radio, Facebook Live and a Zoom Afterparty. The day kicked off with a pride themed radio takeover on Salford City Radio, then The Pink Picnic Digital live on Facebook with DJ sets, performances and a talent competition and finally to finish the night a Zoom Afterparty with DJ Bex Hill. The facebook live event had over 12,000 views.


LOVE & PRIDE

The debut performance of our play, Love & Pride, at the University of Salford, part of a project with the Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Fund and marking the celebration of LGBT+ History month, the theme of which is poetry, prose and plays.
