Salford Pride is a voluntary-led organisation, our team is made up of volunteers from the local LGBTQ+ community and their allies. The Salford Pride team works to facilitate, plan and deliver events throughout the year. We also promote education, advice and raise awareness of LGBTQ+ history, culture and issues that affect LGBTQ+ people, in partnership with other organisations, in the fight for equality.
Salford Pride is Governed by a Board of Trustees who have independent oversight of the organisation. The Chair works in collaboration with the Board of Trustees to deliver the charities core aims and overall mission.
Board meetings are held at least every three months at an arranged location, time and date which suits the board members.
The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and direction of the charity, and guides and supports the Chair and the members of the committee.
To help us grow we need experienced members of the public to join our Board. We are particularly keen to recruit people who have knowledge or skills in one or more of the following areas:
Charity Governance & Law
Human Resources
Finance & accounting
Fundraising
Previous experience of being a trustee or working within the charity sector is desirable but not essential as additional training will be available though our partner organisations.
Salford Pride is an advocate for equal opportunities and we encourage applications from all sections of society, particularly those from communities that are historically excluded or experience multiple marginalisation.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate the Seven Principles of Public Life.
